Will, how's it going? It's been a dry summer for me. Hey, is there still the chance of a Grand trip this year? I may be interested. I got my hands on a raft that could go.
It was a fun and exciting trip. Notice that my friends showed up with a bike helmet and a 70's petzel climbing helmet. Sweet. They were a little unprepared, but everything worked out in the end.
Actually there was! The hole at the bottom of the Green Wall was huge at the flow we were at last weekend. Most of us tried to go left of the big hole which worked. About half the boats that hit the hole were either kicked out of the raft or flipped including one from our party.
We had been planning on staying at the camp directly below the Green Wall on south side of the river and since there were a ton of people behind us we camped there to watch everyone go through. Turns out that a buddy of mine and i were hanging out at the bottom of the green wall with throw ropes pulling either rafts in or people.
P.S. Last weekend there was the most amount of people i've ever seen on the river in the past few years i've been rafting. i think i counted around 10 parties on the river.
The Wind River Race was great!!!. I, on the other hand was sick but still raced. I'm paying the price for that. Haven't gotten out of my PJs for two days. I'd do it again though. How's the webpage coming? Sorry I couldn't attend meeting.
So Kyle is thinking of jumping in a kayak on Monday, you want to row along with us? I'm thinking Opal Creek would be cool. (There was snow up there two weeks ago that let us drag our boats making the hike super easy) I'm a little worried about access with the new low elevation snow we got this past weekend. But, we'll see. You in?
Sick! So you and I are gonna drop Big Bro together right?! Haha maybe not this time. A little Oar boat action on the Truss huh? Are we still gonna ghost boat BZ with that? I am stoked and now I am going to be nervous for the next 4 days. I might come back to Portland Saturday night now. Sure you don't wanna go down to Eugene to see your little bro for a couple of hours?
Sorry to hear about Dana. We're out of town this weekend and next weekend is Danielle's birthday and for some reason she doesn't want to spend it on the river. But, let's keep trying, I would really like to get on the Illinois again this year. Also, I did Opal Creek on Saturday and there are no wood issues. Sounds like a good time to go rafting.
Will, What's up? This winter has not been so good, no rain. What's up with that? Hope to get on the water with you soon, I've been dry too long. I think I've almost settled on a new boat so let's look at that Little White? Illinois? Owyhee? Grand Canyon? Whatever? Oh, and did you see the henway?

So, sounds like a couple rafts hit up Robe Canyon this weekend. Here is the link with a report.
